Saab Key Programming
Saab cars made from 1994 have an immobilizer system that relies on coded keys. The addition of a key requires a new transponder, as well as special programming. This is usually handled by the dealer using a Tech2 diagnostic tool.

Transponder key
The transponder is a piece of key that has an electronic chip. This chip sends out a signal when the key is placed in the ignition. The car will then check the signal to determine if it matches the one on the key. If the signals are identical the car will then unlock itself and begin. There isn't a standard method to go about it, but you should plan how to connect and solder each column and row. There are 22 microcontroller wires and pins that you can connect to this keyboard. It has five rows and 17 column.
After the columns and rows are soldered, it's the time to connect them to key switches. To do this, put a diode over each pin of the key switch and solder it. This will shield the pins on the key switch from current and prevent them from being shorted. A diode permits current to only flow in one direction. It features a visual indicator, a black band, that indicates which direction current will flow.

Jump-starting the battery
